Puppy Classes

The first 3 months of a puppy’s life is extremely important – this is where they form many of their lifelong habits. Bring your puppy to this 4 week class to start them off right.

Professional training for you from Kate Hocking BSc, Dr Alex Hicks BVsc Director Vets 4 Pets & Alison Olsen, Owner of Pet Essentials New Plymouth. Classes take place in store (65/67 Molesworth St, New Plymouth.)

​Training is generally for puppies 8-12 weeks of age. The classes are kept small and run over 4 consecutive weeks. Bookings are essential.
Classes include:
  • Socialization with people and other puppies
  • ​Learning basic commands (sit, down, stand, come, heel)
  • Toilet training
  • Controlling biting, jumping, chewing, and barking
  • Relieving boredom
This class teaches new dog owners basics of dog care and includes plenty of time for the puppies to play with each other. Further training can follow with Kate in her Group Dog Training classes.
